In today's world, we need the right tools for the task at hand. You could try building a house with the wrong tools and no knowledge of building codes and statics. But it would be much much easier (and safer) to build your house with the right tools and the proper knowledge. Drawing a parallel to the spirirtual world, you can try building a place for Hashem in this world on your own and without guidance. It might work... but the odds are not on your side friend. Not only will it not work, but it can also have very serious, far-reaching consequences. If you want to be able to navigate this world (and the next) properly, you need the right tools as well as the knowledge of how to use them. God gives you the tools necessay for you to reach your potential. It's up to you to make something of them. If you're given the materials and the tools, the only thing standing in your way of building Hashem a home in your heart is the knowledge.
