Welcome Back Chevra!!! We have all heard crazy stories about the many righteous and pious Jewish leaders through history. Some of these stories are so wild that they can seem otherworldly. The Tzadikim we speak about can sometime give off the impression that they are super-humans or religious superheroes. It is important to share these stories as it gives us a glimpse into what is possible. There is an old saying along the lines of: "Shoot for the moon and you'll land amongst the stars" The same is true of the righteous Rabbis and the stories of their lives. We might not fast for 40 days. We might not learn Torah in our dreams. We might not go to the mikvah every day. We might not be visited by Eliyahu HaNavi. We might not see miraculous events on a daily basis. We might not be able to teleport instantaneously from one place to the next. We might not be prophets. And guess what..... Thats perfectly okay. But it is something we are all fully capable of striving for. It is something which has been done before and can be done again. These stories act as a sort of inspiration and chizzuk to propel us forward and to actually attain our own personal potentials. When we share these stories we are showing that the only limits we have on ourselves are self imposed limits conjured up in our minds. We have to understand what is truly possible.
