Likutei Moharan - Torah Alef: How To Get Your Prayers Answered!

Hey friends! What's up Chevra?! What if the real key to getting your prayers answered is learning Torah after you daven, and what does that have to do with grace, attraction, and a soul that has fallen? Together we open Torah Alef, the very first Torah of Likutei Moharan, and it all began when someone came to the Rebbe and said he was davening but his prayers were not being answered. He was told to learn Torah after davening, and when he came back saying he could not really understand what he was learning, he was told to keep going and it would become clear. We look at the backdrop of the time, with one camp stressing learning, another stressing prayer, and the Haskalah pushing Jews to assimilate. The Rebbe stresses that both prayer and learning are needed, and that learning is how prayers are answered. We explore what chein (grace) really is, that indescribable attraction that makes you pick one person over another, and how it falls into the wrong places and gets pulled back up through Torah. The proof is the verse about the beloved doe, and it only works when the Torah is truly beloved to you.
