Shalom Aleichem Chevra, welcome to a fresh start at the very beginning of the Torah! Why does the Torah open with creation and the stories of the early generations when it is supposed to be a book of mitzvot, and what does that have to do with the claim that the land is ours? We open with Rashi's famous question on the first verse: why does the Torah begin with creation instead of the first mitzvah? Rashi answers that the nations may one day call us occupiers, and we respond that Hashem created and constantly sustains the world, so He can give the land to whom He wants. Then we ask why we still need all the stories from creation onward. We learn that the Torah is how Hashem creates the world, and that our own actions are creating heaven and earth. Rav Moshe Chaim shares a lesson he first heard from his Rebbe: the world will only recognize the land as ours when our actions live up to the stature of a Jewish nation. We talk about Adam as a chariot for kindness, and about a Shabbat home so full of chesed that people said the walls expanded. If this shiur lit something up for you, give it a like, subscribe, and share it with someone who'd love it, Chevra! ---------------------------------------------------------- 🔹Join Rabbi Moshe Chaim's Exclusive Content Sign up here 👉 https://www.youtube.com/@ChevraRavMosheChaim/join 🔹Join Rabbi Moshe Chaim's Private Chizzuk Group Sign up here 👉 https://subscribepage.io/join-the-chevra 🔹Visit the Website 👉 https://www.ravmoshechaim.com/ 🔹Newsletter 👉 https://ravmoshechaimchevra.substack.com/ 🔹Discover Beautiful Sacred Art 👉 https://bit.ly/chevra-art 🔹Join us in Yeshiva - in Jerusalem!
