We cover the Seudah Mafseket, the final meal before the fast: eating alone, sitting on the ground, bread with a hard-boiled egg dipped in ashes, no zimun, no schmoozing. We talk about taking off leather shoes at shkiah, sitting low to the ground, dimming the lights in the beis medrash, removing the paroches, and why the whole atmosphere of the shul shifts into something that genuinely feels different from every other day of the year. We go through the prohibitions one by one — no eating or drinking, no washing beyond the knuckles, no creams or perfumes, no marital contact, no greeting another Jew with Shalom (and yes, we get into what you CAN say when you pick up the phone).
